COPY or CUT

First, select the text or object you want to copy or cut. In the next step, use copy or cut to save the selected item to the clipboard to paste it at the desired location later.

COPY

  • Click Command + C.
  • Or use Edit and Copy from the menu bar.
  • Or Control-click (or right-click) the fragment of text or object that you selected, next Copy from the shortcut menu.

CUT

  • Click Command + X
  • Or use Edit and Cut from the menu bar.
  • Or Control-click (or right-click) the fragment of text or object that you selected, next Cut from the shortcut menu.

PASTE or PASTE & MATCH STYLE

First, select the place where you want to put the copied fragment, then do one of the following combinations to successfully paste the clipboard contents at that place. After pasting and adjusting the style, the placed element will adapt to the surrounding content by selecting the same font, color, or style.

PASTE

  • Click Command + V.
  • Or use Edit and Paste from the menu bar.
  • Or Control-click (or right-click) the fragment of text or object that you selected, next Paste from the shortcut menu.

PASTE & MATCH STYLE

  • Click Option + Shift + Command + V.
  • Or use Edit and Paste, and Match Style from the menu bar.
