The “Far Out” event from Apple brought with it the presentation of a wide variety of devices. Of course, the most famous of these was the launch of the new iPhone 14, but Apple showed much more than just new smartphones. We also got to see three new Apple Watches, including the Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE 2nd generation, and Apple Watch Ultra.

Apple Watch Series 8

Apple Watch Series 8 is very similar to Series 7, especially in design and size. However, there are some new features that are included in the new watch. The difference between the new Apple Watch Series 8 and Series 7 is that the Series 8 is equipped with two temperature sensors. To be precise, one of these temperature sensors is located on the back of the watch and close to the skin. The other one is located under the screen.

The sensors work primarily at night. They take the temperature from the wrist every few seconds and record even small changes in temperature. What’s more, the sensors also have an additional use for women – they can estimate ovulation and give an even better indication of the expected time of a period.

Another feature that will appear in the new Apple Watch Series 8 is the ability to detect car accidents. The watch is able to independently activate emergency call protocols. This works similarly to fall detection present in recent Apple Watches. If the countdown is not stopped within ten seconds, the Apple Watch will activate calls.

The Apple Watch Series 8 will be available from September 16, with prices starting at $399.

Apple Watch Ultra

The Apple Watch Ultra is the largest watch so far offered by Apple. This massive 49mm watch will survive extreme weather and activities. A larger, sturdier case that protects the glass, and the Action button that is customizable. What’s more, it’s waterproof to 100 meters, which is twice as deep as the Series 8.

It has everything the Apple Watch Series 8 has, but in addition some interesting features as well. The screen brightness reaches 2,000 nits, it has a red screen mode, a built-in microphone and better sound quality. In addition, it has been equipped with advanced algorithms that reduce wind noise.

Furthermore, the battery in the Apple Watch Ultra is also noteworthy. With normal use, the battery will last about 36 hours of use. Besides, low power consumption helps extend this time to 60 hours.

On the other hand, the bad news is the price of the product. Apple Watch Ultra can be purchased for a minimum of $799. This model of the watch will be available from September 23.
